The Hoosiers call Indiana home, and the state has a rich history. Also, the state is littered with entertainment venues and tourist hotspots. Indiana is home to many tourist destinations, including the state capital, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Bloomington, and Lafayette, all of which are perfect for bringing the kids.

Multiple museums throughout the state successfully combine entertaining activities with instructive exhibits. The Snite Museum of Art, the WonderLab Science Museum, and the Studebaker National Museum are just a few museums on the University of Notre Dame's campus that provide entertaining and informative excursions.


The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art in Indianapolis

You can find the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian & Western Art just outside the gates of White River State Park in downtown Indiana. Harrison Eiteljorg, a successful businessman from Indianapolis, amassed an impressive collection there. Western artworks from the early 19th century and after are on display.

Some featured artists are the Western masters Frederick S. Remington and Charles M. Russell, as well as the landscape painters Albert Bierstadt and Georgia O'Keefe. Attitudes: The West in American Art is the museum's newest exhibition, showcasing a wide range of Western artists and cultural traditions.


Fort Wayne Children's Zoo: Wildlife Discovery

The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo has welcomed visitors for almost 50 years, and its award-winning animal displays are a significant draw for visitors and locals alike. Animals as diverse as Amur leopards, Tasmanian devils, red pandas, and Komodo dragons may be seen in the zoo, which features replicas of environments as varied as the African Serengeti and an Indonesian rainforest.

Among the Children's Zoo's many offerings is the Endangered Species Carousel, a fun ride for the whole family. At the zoo, guests may feed giraffes, and pet goats, and ride horses, among other animal encounters.


Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Kiss the Bricks

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, often known as "The Track," is home to the Indy Racing Museum, also known as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. The annual Indianapolis 500-mile race, one of the most prestigious auto races in the world, is held at this track every May.

Also, this museum is open all year long and features a world-class collection of vehicles and memorabilia to honor the quickest day in racing. Except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, you can visit the museum any day of the year. It has nearly 55,000 objects, including 300 automobiles.

At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you can see a permanent exhibit of the 25 drivers who have won the Indianapolis 500.


Enjoy Snite Museum of Art, Notre Dame.

The Snite Museum of Art, located on the campus of Notre Dame, is open to the public without charge and houses an extensive collection of art from the 19th and 20th centuries. The works in the exhibition represent a wide range of cultures and historical eras from throughout the globe.

Work from European painters and sculptors, Mesoamerican effigies, Native American potters, and modern artists are all represented. New exhibitions, like theses created by current MFA students, are also included at the museum.

The museum is available to the general public on Tuesdays through Saturdays, with reduced hours on Saturdays. The museum, only a few streets away, also maintains the brand-new Charles B. Hayes Sculpture Garden, where guests can enjoy art and the outdoors all year round.


Discover the Indiana University Bloomington Campus

Bloomington is the location of Indiana University's main campus and the historical heart of the Hoosier state. The ancient lecture halls and walkways on campus, such as the famous Sample Gates, which link to other campus attractions like the Kirkwood Observatory, give the school a distinctly academic feel.

Hoosier sports are deeply ingrained in the state's culture, and games at Memorial Stadium and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall are real community meeting locations and reasons to cheer for locals.

The Eskenazi Museum of Art and the Indiana University Arboretum are well-liked cultural institutions by students and locals. Nearby Kirkwood Avenue is well-liked by students and locals alike for its abundance of restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife options close to the campus.
